LOB – Occupational benefits in the Gastronomy & Hotel Industry

With Version 2023, a new contribution solution for the Occupational Pensions Act (LOB) has been made available in Abacus Payroll. This solution is aimed at customers who calculate the LOB contributions on an industry-specific basis according to the LOB basis and do not store a fixed deduction, for example on the wage values, but rather coordinate and determine the LOB contributions in payroll on the basis of the settled payroll total according to the pension plan.

The new solution provides a standard for the hotel and catering industry. The GastroSocial pension plans can be selected when setting up the insurance policies. The entire limit values & contribution rates are automatically determined correctly by this selection. Thanks to standardised wage types, hardly any individual parameterisation is necessary. GastroSocial's disability regulations are also supported and the integration of the current "GastroSocial Pension Fund Payroll" and the "GastroSocial Trans-Info" interface provides a comprehensive package for calculating BVG contributions. The new solution was developed in collaboration with GastroSocial and will also be better able to respond to future reforms.

An update to Version 2023 is necessary so that the new LOB contribution solution can also be used in existing clients. In addition, the wage types must be adapted together with the sales partners at the beginning of the year. We therefore recommend initiating the necessary planning with the partners if a changeover is still to take place at the beginning of 2024.
