Install and configure AbaClient standard Installation on macOSX

1. Download the latest version of the AbaClient here.

2. Start the downloaded *.dmg file

3. Drag the AbaClient App icon onto the program directory.

4. Press the key combination Cmd + Space on your Apple keyboard.

The Spotlight search opens. Enter AbaClient.app in the Spotlight search field. The newly installed AbaClient should now appear as the top result.

Double-click on the AbaClient.app file.

10. The following window opens:

10.1 The option “Login with standard web browser” can be deactivated.

10.2 Click on the "Create" button under abalink file.

11. The following window opens:

11.1 Enter the internet address (URL) of your server / installation operator. HTTPS will automatically be used as the standard communication protocol.

11.2 2 If the internet address (URL) uses a port other than 443 (standard HTTPS port), enter it in the Port field.

If the internet address (URL) does not use a port other than the standard port 443, you do not need to enter anything in the Port field. You may also leave the Start parameters field empty. A URL can be defined here to start an Abacus ERP program directly within an application after login.

12. After entering the information, click the “Save” button. The following window opens: You can now define the storage location for the abalink file.
To save the file on the desktop / workstation, first click the Home icon (highlighted in red), then select the Desktop folder, enter a suitable file name, and finish by clicking “Save”.

You will return to the window described in step 10. Close it by clicking the “Save” button. A file with the selected name and the file extension .abalink is now saved on your desktop / workstation.

Important:

This file does not yet display the Abacus logo. To change this, proceed as follows:

14. Select the .abalink file and right-click (or use a secondary click). In the context menu, click Information.

A window opens displaying the file information for the .abalink file. No changes are required — leave this window open.

14.1 Open Finder and select Applications. Locate and select the AbaClient.app file.Click and hold the mouse button, then drag the selected file onto the icon of the .abalink file shown in the open information window until a plus sign (+) appears. Release the mouse button.
 

The *.abalink file now contains the Abacus logo. If everything went well, it will look like this:

14.2. Double-click on this file to start the installed web browser. After successful authentication, Abacus will now start automatically.
